Advisor Alliance LLC has partnered with wealth managers in an effort to allow Certified Public Accountants, Enrolled Agents and Attorneys who have passed certification examinations to be Investment Advisor Representatives (IAR) (or practice in a state that allows them to waive the test requirements) the ability to refer their clients to a trusted wealth manager. This relationship allows the IAR to link up with a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) entity and receive a percentage of the advisory fees. Advisor Alliance LLC handles the compliance of being an RIA while the IAR focuses on client service and the interaction with the wealth manager.
The clients benefit because they don't pay their wealth manager any more than they would otherwise, but the share of the fee that is allocated to their CPA, Enrolled Agent or attorney covers the billings the advisor would otherwise charge them for planning or other consulting related to their portfolio. It is a win for the client, which is the ultimate goal at all times.
Client names are, of course, maintained in strict confidence. No information is shared with other IARs and no one associated in any way with Advisor Alliance LLC will ever solicit the IAR's clients for the services the IAR provides. CPAs, Enrolled Agents and attorneys can trust Advisor Alliance LLC to act as the solicitor fee conduit RIA without worrying about client information being shared.
Advisor Alliance LLC was founded in 2017 by Eric Lewis, CPA. Eric has worked in public accounting and hi-tech finance since 1995. Currently, Eric is a Member in the regional public accounting firm Ours Lawyer Lewis & Company PLLC (“OLL CPAS”). Prior to co-founding OLL CPAS, he was Executive Director of Walker Ventures, a $100 million
Advisor Alliance LLC was founded in 2017 by Eric Lewis, CPA. Eric has worked in public accounting and hi-tech finance since 1995. Currently, Eric is a Member in the regional public accounting firm Ours Lawyer Lewis & Company PLLC (“OLL CPAS”). Prior to co-founding OLL CPAS, he was Executive Director of Walker Ventures, a $100 million early stage venture capital fund located near Baltimore, Maryland.
Eric has served as Chief Financial Officer at two venture capital-backed high tech companies and has worked with large regional CPA firms in auditing, tax and business consulting.
Eric served on the Board of Governors of his alma mater, Shepherd University, having been appointed by Governor Earl Ray Tomblin in February 2016. Eric also serves on the Board of Directors of Jefferson Security Bank, the Shepherd Entrepreneurship and Research Corporation, and Shepherd University Athletic Club (emeritus). Eric also previously served on the West Virginia School Building Authority, as he was appointed by Governor Joe Manchin and reappointed by Governor Tomblin. He has previously served as Chairman of the West Virginia Venture Connection, a nonprofit created by Senator John D. Rockefeller IV and on the Boards of the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce, Jefferson County Farm Bureau, Shepherd University Foundation, Shepherd University Alumni Association, Jefferson County Development Authority, WV Vision Shared and the Jefferson County Schools Education Foundation. Eric was also appointed by Governor Jim Justice to West Virginia's Blue Ribbon Commission on Four Year Higher Education.
Eric graduated cum laude from Shepherd College with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and lives in Shepherdstown with his wife and has two grown children.
